Offline-first crews

Mobile field operations

The Nexma mobile app brings the same project Codex to field crews. Designs flow out, status flows back, and Jax travels with the technician. The desktop and mobile apps share one source of truth.

What ships in the app

  • Work-order list. Open assignments for the active crew, sorted by priority and

proximity. Pull-to-refresh syncs against the Codex.

  • Work-order detail. Full task description, attached drawings, materials list,

and customer notes.

  • Map. Project area with the relevant design overlay. Live crew positions

stream back to the desktop Globe in real time.

  • Task execution. Step-through checklist with photo capture, signature

collection, and barcode scan for material confirmation.

  • Jax field assistant. Voice-driven chat tied to the active work order.

Hands-free for crews on a ladder or in a trench.

Offline-first

The app is built to operate without connectivity. A local store keeps work orders, photos, and pending writes durable across network drops. When connectivity returns, queued writes sync in the background.

Conflicts are resolved by:

  1. Server-wins for non-overlapping fields.
  2. Last-writer-wins for direct overlaps on simple fields.
  3. Jax-mediated review for structural overlaps (e.g., two crews modifying the same

splice).

GPS streaming

While a work order is active the app streams GPS positions back to the project Codex on a short cadence. The desktop Globe renders crew positions live. The same path drives operational dashboards and after-action reports.

Photos and field reports

Photo capture auto-tags GPS, orientation, and timestamp. Field reports compose photos, voice notes, and structured form fields into a single Codex artifact attached to the work order.

Languages

EN, HE, AR ship in the box with full RTL support. Voice input and TTS use the device locale.

Platforms

  • Android. Generally available.
  • iOS. Beta with a small set of partners. General availability planned.

Authentication

Single sign-on through your organization's identity provider. Session tokens are short-lived and refresh on every network round-trip. The app does not store long-lived credentials on the device.
